What is the difference between your beginner and advanced programmes?
Beginner programmes focus on foundational skills — basic robot building, introductory coding, and engineering concepts. Advanced programmes prepare students for FIRST Tech Challenge competition with real engineering standards, Java programming, and structured team environments.
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)
What is FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)?
FIRST Tech Challenge is an international robotics competition for students aged 12–18. Teams design, build and program robots to compete in seasonal challenges. CMR Robotics coaches FTC teams in Auckland and organises national competitions across New Zealand.
Is FTC only for advanced students?
FTC suits students who are ready for a more serious technical commitment. Some students join with no prior experience and build into it over one to two years. We discuss readiness during the intake process so families can understand the best fit.
